Working remotely? Do you require an internet connection but don't have access to a Wi-Fi hotspot or USB dongle?
Tethering allows you to use your iPhone and the data plan provided by your carrier (ie. Telstra, Vodafone etc) as a modem to go online.
| 1. Connect the cable to the USB port on the machine, and connect your iPhone to the cable. |
| 2. Unlock the phone, and select ‘settings’ icon on the phone. |
| 3. Drill into the general tab of the settings. |
| 4. Locate the network settings. |
| 5. Turn on internet tethering. |
Browsing internet pages on your laptop should now load up as per usual. Please note that this will only work if the iPhone in question has a sim-card with an active data plan. Be warned that carriers may also charge an extra fee when tethering devices, so please check with your provider before setting up the tether.
